gifts of joy

Cruz was born and raised in Mérida; a beautiful valley surrounded by gigantic mountains in the Venezuelan Andes. She got a degree in Industrial design and moved to London to learn English and experience the world from a different perspective.

Love and life brought Cruz to the US in 2015. She lives in the beautiful Finger Lakes area where she finds so much joy and inspiration for her art. She has enjoyed creating using different mediums. Her current favorite is watercolor, which she uses for her illustrations with a whimsical style.

Past Exhibits

lifting botanicals

Lifting Botanicals explores the meeting point between poetry, photography, and mixed media collage while celebrating queer joy. The show is about honoring what inspires happiness in our lives, though it may be contrary to traditional norms; whether it be in contemporary art criticism or gender roles. Lifting Botanicals is the artist’s first solo exhibition- it is a tribute to the beauty of shaking up traditional forms and how that comments on queer experiences. Brooke Lange is a mixed media artist and writer living in Brooktondale, NY.

inside out

Julie Waltz-Stalker is a painter from Corning NY. With her abstract work she seeks to externalize deep emotion by translating psychological states into physical expressions. Shapes butt against each other, sometimes overlapping in dense layers. Organic forms fracture and spiral outward, suggesting themes of growth and interdependence, juxtaposed with chaos and darkness.

doodles

Jody Earle is a long-time Tompkins County resident and community volunteer. For decades, she has created vibrant, abstract artwork, affectionately called "doodles," to convey the joys, sorrows, and myriad emotions of everyday life and experiences. The artist hopes her work offers the same catharsis and serenity to others as it has for her. This is the first public exhibition of her art.

Interested in exhibiting?

We welcome exhibits of all kinds. We are especially interested in supporting artists who have never shown in a gallery before, exhibits with historical and cultural significance, and unexpected shows which might not fit into a traditional gallery.
